Swami Cat is the wise Yoga Master Puppet who helps Yoga Girl/Karuna learn the ways of Yoga.
Who is Yoga Girl/Karuna? That's me.
I have been creating stories and working with little kids since I was just a kid myself. My grandmother & I always played with puppets. Later, after studying Theater and then graduating from Yoga Teacher Training, I immediately began performing with Swami Cat.
Knowing that children remember best through story, I began a workshop with the stories I created using Yoga poses to help children stretch and learn the Yogic principals of peace, compassion, non-harm, etc.
I started using Swami Cat the puppet because I knew there was a need in children's entertainment for a wise, helpful character that would help children navigate this really tough world that we're living in. (Swami Cat = The Yogic Mr. Rogers!) More & more I find that what kids needs most is to find compassion for others but also for themselves.
Soon we created not only performances, but workshops, YouTube videos, books and a music/story CD, Meow Is The Time For Yoga that was # 1 Kids Music on CDBaby April 2017 (Produced & Co-Created with my husband the singer/songwriter/musician, Anker.)
We are not done creating & sharing! Not until every child feels loved, supported & finds their own ability to cultivate love & peace for themselves.
